Nicosia Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Nicosia, Cyprus)

Photograph of historic stone archesSome people may well find the hot summer climate on Cyprus a little overwhelming, while others enjoy the endless sunny weather and lack of rainfall. With so many superb northerly beaches being close to Nicosia, the summer season is the perfect time to enjoy a holiday in the North Cyprus region.

The Mediterranean Sea is at its warmest and most pleasant between July and October, offering a great way to cool down when the summer climate is at its most oppressive and humid. To beat the heat of the midday summer weather, try to sightsee early in the morning if possible. As evening approaches, Nicosia's cafes and restaurants begin to fill up with holiday makers often choosing to dine 'al fresco'.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Rain is not something usually experienced during the Nicosia summer climate, and if any precipitation does fall, then it is rarely more than a very brief shower. As autumn approaches, the number of tourists begins to reduce, and the likelihood of rainy weather starts to increase.

December and January do tend to be the wettest months in Nicosia, but the rainfall is rarely extreme and on fine days, it is still so mild that you won't even need to wear a coat. Spring is another favourable time to holiday on Cyprus, when temperatures are warm and inviting, and humidity levels are noticeably lower.
